Q: Hi! It says on the package not to have vaginal sex while using monistat. Is that when using the suppositories, or even if using just the cream? In other words if i am only using the cream, is it safe to have vaginal sex? and if not, how soon after using the cream would it be safe to?

A: We recommend that you avoid vaginal intercourse to allow the vagina to heal. This product may damage condoms and diaphragms and may cause them to fail. Therefore, you should wait three days after treatment to resume using condoms or your diaphragm. The word “treatment” in this instance refers to when you finished taking your last dose of the product.
